A commemorative event for the 60th anniversary of the inscription honoring Comrade Lei Feng was held at SJQU’s Lei Feng Square. Teachers and students from nine institutions—including SJQU, Shanghai Ocean University, Shanghai East High School, Linggang Experimental Middle School, Linggang No. 1 Middle School, Jianping Linggang Primary School, Mingzhu Linggang Primary School, and Shanghai Normal University Affiliated Pudong Linggang School—attended a special class on the Lei Feng spirit.

The inaugural conference of the National Lei Feng Spirit Vocational Education Alliance and a forum titled “Inheriting the Lei Feng Spirit, Cultivating Future Talents” were held at Changsha Vocational Technical College. SJQU was elected as a council member of the alliance’s first session.

A collective lesson preparation session for the “First Ideological and Political Lesson of the Semester” and a demonstration on improving the quality of ideological and political theory courses were held at East China University of Science and Technology. Outstanding units and individuals from the 2022 Shanghai Action Plan for Enhancing the Quality of Ideological and Political Theory Courses were recognized. The Master Studio led by Professor Song Yanhua, Dean of SJQU’s School of Marxism, was designated as a Shanghai Municipal Master Studio for Ideological and Political Theory Courses (2022–2024). Associate Professor Yuan Yue’s teaching case, “The First Inclusion of a 700,000-Yuan ‘High-Priced Drug’ in Medical Insurance,” was selected as an outstanding case in the 2022 Shanghai University Ideological and Political Course Awards.

The 13th “Challenge Cup” China College Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition was held at Beijing Institute of Technology. Jing Duoduo from the Accounting program and Luo Shengcong from Mechatronics represented their team in the national finals. Their project, “Carefree Long-term Bedrest—The Leading Multifunctional Automated Assisted Nursing Bed,” won the national silver award.

A research symposium led by the Department of Ideological and Political Affairs of the Ministry of Education was held at SJQU, chaired by Director Wei Shiqiang. Min Hui, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Education and Health Work Party Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Private University Party Working Committee, reported on Party building and ideological-political work in Shanghai’s private universities. Party secretaries from various private universities, including SJQU, exchanged views on ideological course development, grassroots Party building, talent cultivation, ideological work, and the “Three-Wide Education” model.

The inaugural “Lingang Cup” College Cyber Security Skills Competition, co-hosted by Lingang Industry University and themed “Data Security,” was held at SJQU. Open to students from five Lingang universities, the event attracted nearly 1,000 participants, making it the broadest and most attended offline competition among Lingang institutions in recent years.

The first biweekly university-college symposium was held at SJQU to strengthen coordination between the university and its schools and foster mutual learning.

The “2023 Shanghai Private University Counselor Competence Competition” concluded at SJQU. Counselor Zhang Chengyu won first prize and Wu Li won third prize, marking the first time an SJQU counselor has received the top award in this competition.

The first session of the 4th Staff Representatives Congress and the 5th Trade Union Members Congress was held under the theme “Uniting Hearts and Minds for the New Era, Striving with Determination on a New Journey.”

An expanded executive committee meeting of the Shanghai Private University New Social Stratum Association was held at SJQU to study the Party’s united front policies and discuss related work.

At the 12th Shanghai College Student Mechanical Engineering Innovation Competition, seven teams from SJQU’s School of Mechatronics won 2 first prizes and 3 second prizes, ranking among the top performers in comparable institutions.

SJQU and Lingang Industry University jointly applied for the “Lingang New Area High-end Equipment Industry Zone City-Region Consortium,” which was approved as one of the first 14 municipal-level industry-education integration consortia in Shanghai.

Chen Yiyang from the Microelectronics program won the national second prize in the finals of the 14th National College Mathematics Competition.

At the 18th “Challenge Cup” Shanghai College Student Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition, SJQU won 1 special prize, 1 first prize, 1 second prize, and 5 third prizes, and received the competition’s “Victory Cup.”

SJQU’s Advertising program passed the Yangtze River Delta New Liberal Arts Education Professional Certification, becoming the first program in a private university to achieve this recognition.

The Shanghai College Entrance Examination Volunteer填报现场咨询会 was held at SJQU. Nearly 100 universities provided enrollment counseling services, attracting over 10,000 students and parents from Shanghai and the surrounding region.

The 2023 Education and Teaching Discussion was conducted with the theme “Quality as the Core, Teaching as the Center, Students as the Focus, Teachers as the Main Force.”

At the finals of the 16th National College Student Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Social Practice and Technology Competition, SJQU students won 1 national first prize and 5 national third prizes. SJQU was the only private university to receive a first prize and has achieved first prizes in three consecutive editions of the competition.

The “Qihang Talent Program” was launched to prepare outstanding students for overseas master’s degree applications, enhancing their international communication skills and global perspectives.

The “March Forward, Pursue the Future” 2024 Shanghai College Graduates Autumn Campus Recruitment Fair was held at SJQU, marking the first large-scale offline recruitment event in Shanghai for 2023.

At the Shanghai municipal finals of the 9th China International “Internet+” College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, SJQU students won 36 awards, including 2 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 25 bronze medals, and 4 excellence awards.

At the Shanghai division finals of the National College Student Career Planning Competition, Duan Siying from the School of Journalism and Communication won a silver medal in the higher education group, and Yu Xinyue from the Vocational and Technical College won a silver medal in the vocational education group.

At the forum “Strengthening Our Education: What Can Teachers Do?” and the council meeting of the Shanghai Young Teachers Association, SJQU was appointed as a standing council member unit of the association.
