According to the ranking results, Shanghai Jian Qiao University（SJQU） has secured the third position in the 2026 China Private University Rankings (Category I), sharing this standing with Qilu Institute of Technology. Launched in 2003, the Alumni Association China University Rankings employ an evaluation system encompassing 12 primary indicators, including institutional level, ideological and political education, teaching quality, academic disciplines, research output, and social contributions. For the first time in 2026, private universities were classified into “research-oriented” and “application-oriented” categories, with the latter further divided into Type I (predominantly engineering), Type II, and Type III.
