Shanghai Nanlin Integrated Circuit Co., Ltd. donated 1 million RMB to the SJQU Education Development Foundation to establish the Integrated Circuit Industry-Education Integration Fund, aimed at deepening collaboration in talent cultivation for the integrated circuit field.

SJQU was approved as one of the four private universities nationwide to establish a Ministry of Education Innovation Development Center for Ideological and Political Work in Higher Education.

The university’s Party Committee was successfully selected as a “National Party Building Demonstration University” cultivation unit and passed the acceptance review.

The Ministry of Education announced the filing and approval results of undergraduate programs for 2021. SJQU added the Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering program, bringing its total undergraduate programs to 37.

The university awarded 1,014 Lei Feng Medals to faculty and students recognized in the 2021 Lei Feng Awards, bringing the cumulative total of medals awarded to nearly 10,000.

A large-scale integrated ideological and political class under the “University-Secondary-Primary School Linkage” initiative of the Lingang New Area was held at SJQU, with teachers and students from across Lingang attending a special class on the Lei Feng spirit.

The Ministry of Education announced the 2021 national and provincial first-class undergraduate program construction sites. Nine SJQU programs were selected as Shanghai first-class undergraduate program construction sites, bringing the university’s total provincial-level first-class program sites to 15. Additionally, five SJQU courses were included in the National Higher Education Smart Education Platform; eight courses received Shanghai municipal key course construction approvals for 2022; and nine courses and five teaching teams were selected for Shanghai municipal ideological and political demonstration projects.

The SJQU Party Committee, the Party Committee of the School of Information Technology, and the Teaching Staff Party Branch of the Mechatronics Department in the School of Mechatronics passed the acceptance reviews for “Shanghai Characteristic Party Building University,” “Shanghai Party Building Benchmark School,” and “Shanghai Party Building Model Branch,” respectively.

Employment data for the 2022 graduating class were released, showing an employment rate of 98.9%.

A special training program on enhancing political capacity for secretaries and presidents of Shanghai private universities was held at SJQU.
September 15
Following evaluations by the Shanghai Vocational Skills Appraisal Center and the Municipal Education Commission’s Teaching Research Office, 29 undergraduate programs and five college-level programs at SJQU were approved to offer nine types of vocational certificates each.

A training program on daily management and ethnic minority student management for counselors from Shanghai private universities was held at SJQU, with over 30 participants from eight institutions.
October 16
The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China opened in Beijing. SJQU faculty and students gathered to watch the opening ceremony and carried out a series of activities to study and implement the spirit of the Congress.
November 18
The National Seminar on Studying and Implementing the Spirit of the 20th Party Congress for Private Schools and the Inaugural Conference of the Party Building Professional Committee of the China Private Education Association were held in Beijing. Professor Jiang Yanqiao, Party Secretary of SJQU, was elected as a deputy director.

The Yangtze River Delta Private University Teaching Development Alliance Seminar on Industry-Education Integration was held at SJQU.
The 10th Student Congress of SJQU, themed “Study the 20th Party Congress, Always Follow the Party, Forge Ahead on a New Journey,” was successfully convened.
December 15
Results of the 13th “Challenge Cup” Shanghai College Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition were announced. SJQU won one gold, four silver, and three bronze awards.
December 17
The 12th Shanghai College Student Engineering Practice and Innovation Ability Competition was held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Four teams from SJQU’s School of Mechatronics won one first prize and three second prizes.
The Shanghai 17th Games Fencing Competition (University Group) and the 2022 Shanghai College Student Fencing Championships concluded successfully at SJQU. The university’s fencing team performed strongly, winning three gold and four silver medals.

Hosted by the Ministry of Education Innovation Development Center for Ideological and Political Work (SJQU), the theoretical seminar on “Red Resources and the Construction of Large-Scale Ideological and Political Courses” was successfully held online.

At the 2022 Member Conference of the Shanghai Entrepreneurs Federation of the China Democratic League, Chairman Zhou Xingzeng received the Special Contribution Award.

At the 14th “Yulong Award” Jewelry and Jade Industry Competition, teachers and students from the SJQU Jewelry College achieved excellent results, winning 3 gold, 13 silver, 60 bronze, 16 Best Creativity, and 9 Excellence awards—totaling 101 awards. All four entries submitted by faculty members won awards (1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze).

The First Council Meeting of the Labor Education Professional Committee of the China Association of Higher Education approved SJQU and nine other institutions as new members of the committee.
