Shanghai Jian Qiao University (SJQU), a non-profit private university, funded by Shanghai Jiao Qiao Group in 2000. SJQU is mainly engaging in four-year degree program. The university is approved to confer the Bachelor Degree and Associate Bachelor Degree by China's Ministry of Education.

Under the charge of the president and the leadership of the board, the university, with teaching as pivotal task, cultivates innovative talents with practical skill through school-enterprise cooperation.

Located in Pudong Lingang Area with great traffic convenience by subway, the University covers an area of 65 hectares with beautiful campus and advanced facilities. It is indeed a modern garden-like university.

SJQU is a young, energetic and dynamic university. After16 years’ rapid development, it has become one of the leading private universities in China. It is composed of nine colleges, namely Business School, College of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, College of Journalism and Communication, College of Art Design, College of Foreign Languages, College of Information Technology, College of Jewelry, International Design College and Vocational College. There are totally about 30,000 students graduated from the school so far and more than 14,500 full-time students enrolled at present.

In order to cultivate our students with global vision and capacity of cross-cultural communication, SJQU has established close cooperation and exchanges with many foreign colleges and universities from the United States, Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, Russia, Australia, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, etc..



Chinese Program in Jian Qiao

SJQU offers non-degree Chinese learning program to meet different demands and schedules. All the teachers have professional background and rich teaching experience. Traditional classroom teaching with colorful activities makes learning fun. SJQU has plenty smart classrooms, language labs, self-learning rooms, reading rooms to assist students with language learning. In order to help students understand Chinese culture and be active participator in cultural activities, SJQU arranges various cultural lectures, workshops, city tours and language excursions. Students can also communicate with Chinese students and students from other countries by taking part into school clubs and events.
