From May 17 to 18, the 8th Shanghai College Students Mechanical Engineering Innovation Competition was held in Shanghai Maritime University. Over 700 hundred teachers and students from 16 universities such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Tongji University participated in the contest, with 168 entries. The College of Mechanical & Electronic Engineering of our school selected 10 teams to compete with them, and finally won 5 first prizes and 3 second prizes, ranking top among similar universities. Our school also wonthe excellent organization prize.
The theme of this competition is Machinery +, which is Intelligent Machinery for Family and Campus Life. It can be divided into three categories，they are institutional innovation, sensor design or application innovation and intelligent innovation.
Intelligent products designed by students of College of Mechanical & Electronic Engineering are close to the use scene of family and campus life. They are easy and fast to operate.For example, Wireless Communication Remote Control Indoor lifting Clothes Hanger and Intelligent Balcony System won two first prize works. Through automatic adjustment of the system or remote control of mobile phone, it can intelligently perceive sunshine and rain, and better realize balcony drying.The first prize work Living Aid Artifact, through a portable spatial connecting rod mechanism device, assists the elderly with inconvenient legs to get up and down easily.The first prize work Household Intelligent Waste Cans, which can compress and classify, enables any user to complete the process of space saving and garbage automatic sorting through this small garbage cans.If a person wants to play badminton, then use the first prize of this work Intelligent Badminton Serve Machine, you can let the WeChat Mini Programs to serve.

It is reported that the Shanghai College Students Mechanical Engineering Innovation Competition sponsored by the Shanghai Municipal Education Committee, has successfully held eight sessions since 2012.It has become one of the most influential competitions in Shanghai's colleges and universities.Featured by physical competition, integration of mechanical and electrical, systematic training, innovative application, and technological entrepreneurship, the competition has attracted the active participation of teachers and students of mechanical, near-mechanical, engineering and other majors in colleges and universities.
